Christmas Advent Devotional Cards for Kids

Need a last minute {free} Christmas devotional to do with your kids for Advent?

Invite your kids to learn the true meaning of Christmas with these super-duper-simple  Advent Devotional Cards! [Yes, they are free!]

There are 25 cards, one for each day of December. Start each morning with something warm to eat (or drink) as you open your Bibles to learn about our Savior! What better thing could you do in December?

This will be our fifth year doing this devotional, and it hasn’t gotten old. We string the cards up across our fireplace mantle, but you can string them anywhere or keep them all in a box and make a book at the end of the month.

(This picture was taken the first year we did the devotional, and I still have this set of cards that we flip through!)

These are similar to our through-the-Bible devotional cards, except there is not a "devotional" portion, and the "sensory" item is a craft item that is applied directly to the front of each card. Check the "overview" card for a full list of craft supplies. Each day, you read a part of the Christmas story directly from the Bible. The verses are included on the back of each card, or you can look them up in your own Bible. There is a short prayer to pray each day, too!

I cut all cards ahead of time, place them in a Christmas box with all of the craft items, and we are set for the month!

(Note: The craft items are super simple!)

I think my favorite part of doing this type of devotional is the “memory work” that is inherently included. By putting up the card, your child can memorize the Biblical story of Christmas in just one simple sentence each day. Below is an old video of my then 3-year old telling the Christmas story from the cards.

Merry Christmas!!!!

In the love of Christ that binds us,

Katie
