What Raising Kingdom Warriors is all about…
Hi! My name is Katie. When my oldest daughter was a new toddler, I started doing Montessori-inspired “learning activities” with her at home. This shifted into searching for an at-home toddler Bible curriculum that would be stimulating and hands-on. While I found inspiration, I surely didn’t find what I was looking for. I was (and still am) super into researching and implementing the best educational models and methods for my children’s unique personalities and stages of life. I knew I needed our Bible lessons to come to life for my little learner by engaging all of her senses, so under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, I created the Sensory Bible Devotional Cards, and the rest is history.
After hundreds of families tried and loved our Sensory Bible Devotional Cards, I decided it was time to take it “up a notch” and offer a safe, beautiful, and supportive place to come together as a community as we study the Bible with our little ones and with a tribe of Christian moms.
I live in South Florida with my husband and four young daughters - ages 7, 5, 3, and 1. We “do Bible” three to five mornings each week, and it’s the one activity that never receives a complaint. I homeschool (a pre-Covid decision) all of them, and the core of our curriculum is the Bible. Educational methods, philosophies, and curriculum come in and out of style. Some approaches work with certain kids or in certain seasons and fall flat in others. (Believe me, I’ve tried several in the last few years!) What I have come to learn, through God’s ever-loving and never-ending patience with me, is that I need to be connected to the Source of all education for any educational endeavor to bear fruit.
I slowly stopped placing so much weight on the "subjects” and started more fully diving into God’s Word for myself and my children. I truly believe that anything can be taught from anything because God created everything.
You’ll find a snippet of this concept in the bite-sized daily devotionals you will do with your children. I occasionally expand on certain concepts by setting up a science experiment, pulling out a globe, learning about a new plant or animal, or even connecting a phonics or spelling activity to our Bible lesson.
While you can do the Bible lesson and leave it at that, you don’t have to. You can extend what you are learning in the Bible lessons to every part of your day - to every part of your life with your family.
My hope and prayer is that you will take what you are learning with your young children and let it change your life. Talk about what you are learning when you wake up, when you go to sleep, and as you go about your day. (See Deuteronomy 6:7.) Let God’s Word transform your heart, your mind, and your life and make you a new creation in Christ (Romans 12:2, 2 Corinthians 5:17.) Let us raise warriors for God’s Kingdom together!
Every lesson is rooted in Scripture and tailored for little hands.
