This Week…
This week, we are studying Cain and Abel! Don't worry, I actually don't go into details about Cain killing Abel in our preschool devotionals. I really believe my children are too young to hear that harsh reality, but there are still so many lessons to learn from this story that is perfect for little ones!
We will focus on careers and giving our first and best to God.
Activities this Week:
While the children get to touch the cards and the sensory items, the true joy comes from consistently reading God’s Word together with your children. They get to hear God’s words directly from the Bible! There are discussion prompts on the back of each Devotional Card. In just 5 minutes, you can set your whole day up to be focused on the Lord.
Day 1: We cut, sort, and paste healthy and unhealthy foods onto our Devotional Card!
Day 2: We make a sweet-smelling snake out of play-doh.
Day 3: We have a lesson in obedience, waiting, and harvesting by waiting to eat a treat until later (when the treat will be EVEN BETTER!)
Day 4: We make a bush with leaves and twigs to hide behind.
Day 5: We practice another lesson in obedience by playing "red light, green light" using masking tape in a fun pattern on the floor!
We like to wrap up our Bible study with a review day. Staple the cards together to form a booklet, read it together, and maybe even have your child “read” it to another family member!

This is our Bible Basket setup, with the devotional card and sensory item(s) for that day in individual plastic sandwich bags. This is why you may hear me refer to them as, “sandwich bag devotionals” occasionally.
